Uva Wine Bar Celebrates Teachers With ½ Priced Desserts and a School Supply Donation Campaign

PLYMOUTH, MA (August 19, 2019) – Back to school season can be hectic and stressful for kids and parents, but it is especially so for teachers who have to get out of summer vacation mode and start stocking their classrooms and creating lesson plans to educate America’s future leaders. Uva Wine Bar, the South Shore’s first and only self-serve wine bar located at 46 Main St. in Plymouth, Mass. is hoping to alleviate the stress of the season by offering all teachers a ½ price dessert with any wine purchase throughout the month of September. Additionally, Uva is collecting school supplies from customers, that will be donated to Plymouth area schools.

“Teachers are often forgotten in the shuffle of back to school activities and don’t really get the recognition they deserve until Teacher Appreciation Week in May. They, too have to kick into gear and change their lives for the school season, so we wanted to do something for them to help ease the transition,” said Katy Gaenicke, Uva Wine Bar co-owner. “After a stressful day of teaching our kids, we hope they will come in to Uva to enjoy a glass a wine with their friends and co-workers and also enjoy a half price dessert – they deserve it!”

Uva is also getting their customers involved in helping local teachers. Every time an Uva customer makes a donation of school supplies at Uva Wine Bar (valued at least $5), they will receive two free Fedele’s truffles with their wine purchase. The donation bin is located in Uva Wine Bar and donations will be accepted from August 25 – September 30, 2019.

Uva Wine Bar, located at 46 Main St in Plymouth, Mass. offers 48 different wines from around the world through self-serve WineStations. Customers can get a 1.5 oz. taste, a half glass 3 oz., or a full 6 oz. pour of any of the wines. The wine bar was founded in 2019 by Katy Gaenicke and Michelle Manware who share a passion for wine and decided to open Uva after discovering the self-serve technology while on vacation.
